A. Kenneth Hennesay

A. Kenneth Hennesay is a partner in the Orange County office where he practices in the Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Practice Group. Ken enjoys a diverse practice that ranges from straightforward, efficient enforcement of creditor rights, to resolving financial distress situations that involve complex, multi-disciplinary legal and business issues in often intensive negotiation and litigation postures. Clients include parties to distressed asset transactions, secured creditors/lenders, commercial landlords, land developers, commercial property owners, and chapter 11 debtors in a wide range of business enterprises. Ken also represents court-appointed fiduciaries such as bankruptcy trustees, examiners and federal equity receivers in complex insolvency and fraud matters.

Ken's constant focus is maximizing value for his clients, whether that requires simple, direct action or discovering and recovering value through creative legal analysis and strategy. For more complex matters, Ken is adept at utilizing Allen Matkins' deep resources to provide clients with fully integrated, seamless and cost-effective service involving all aspects of a transaction or dispute. In circumstances of financial distress, assembling an effective team is critical to accomplishing client goals in a timely manner. This focus and flexibility has contributed to Ken's successful involvement in foreclosures of real and personal property; multi-million dollar distressed asset acquisitions, bulk sales, and sales out of bankruptcy; recovery of multi-million dollar landlord claims beyond damages caps asserted by debtor tenants; and workouts and chapter 11 reorganizations of land developments and operating businesses.

Ken dedicates a substantial amount of time to develop his practice and promote continuing legal education through publishing articles, presenting programs on cutting-edge topics as speaker or moderator, and activity in professional organizations.
