A. Thomas S. Safford is of counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP. Throughout his years at FLH and, previously, its predecessor firm, Mr. Safford has maintained an impressive roster of prominent domestic and international clients, a number of which have been with the firm and its predecessor for over 50 years. His practice primarily comprises both U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution, licensing, and client counseling including validity and infringement studies, trade secret protection and promotion, and unfair competition. The technical focus of his patent and trademark practice are in the chemical and mechanical arts, including petroleum, steel, construction and personal hygiene. In addition to his own practice, Mr. Safford works with and advises junior lawyers at the firm.
