Abigail N. Bortnick

Abigail Bortnick is a senior associate with the Special Matters and Government Investigations Practice Group in King & Spalding’s Washington, D.C., office. Ms. Bortnick focuses primarily on white collar criminal litigation, government investigations, corporate internal investigations, False Claims Act and whistleblower litigation, and complex civil litigation including civil fraud litigation with the government. She has represented corporations and individuals under investigation by the Department of Justice, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, State Attorneys’ General Offices, and the Internal Revenue Service. Ms. Bortnick also serves on the firm’s Pro Bono and Women’s Initiative Committees.

Ms. Bortnick earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the Honors Program at the University of Maryland, College Park. She graduated, cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law where she competed nationally with the Trial Team and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Ms. Bortnick is a member of the Maryland state bar, United States District Court of Maryland, and the District of Columbia bar.
