Akash Shah's practice focuses on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and general corporate and securities matters. He also provides general corporate counseling to companies, including on general corporate governance issues and commercial contracts.

Akash's recent representations include: a private equity firm in the sale of its components business for $200 million to an international buyer; a building products manufacturer in connection with its tender offer for its outstanding senior notes; a private equity firm in the acquisition of a company engaged in providing U.S. Oil Pollution Act of 1990 regulatory compliance and emergency response activities; and a national retailer in connection with its issuance of $800 million aggregate principal amount of senior notes.

Prior to joining Jones Day, Akash worked as a management consultant, primarily focused on the retail industry. He is currently a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association.
