Alain Dermarkar represents public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, tender offers, strategic transactions, joint ventures, and general corporate matters. In addition, he represents issuers and investment banking firms in equity and debt securities offerings, including initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, and Rule 144A transactions.

Alain advises clients in a variety of industries and sectors, including technology, energy, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, semiconductor, insurance, and financial services, as well as representing private equity clients on potential acquisitions. Representative clients include BenefitMall, Century Aluminum, Connell Limited Partnership, J.F. Lehman, Teradyne, Tokyo Electron, Valet Waste, and Viasystems.

Alain's recent experience includes Tokyo Electron’s $29 billion merger of equals with Applied Materials, J.F. Lehman & Company's sale of Drew Marine and ACR Electronics to The Jordan Company, Teradyne’s acquisition of ZTEC Instruments, Century Aluminum's acquisition of the assets of a Kentucky smelter from Rio Tinto Alcan, the sale of TreeFrog Developments to OtterBox, Drew Marine's acquisition of Alexander/Ryan and Sea Technology, Granite Construction's $130 million acquisition of Kenny Construction Company, the sale of Vivint to Blackstone for more than $2 billion, Connell Limited Partnership's $200 million divestiture of Dayton Progress and the components business of Anchor Danly to MISUMI Group, Valet Waste's acquisition of Zodiac Valet Trash, and Tokyo Electron’s $252.5 million acquisition of publicly traded FSI International.

Prior to practicing law, Alain worked as an IT manager in a large multinational corporation, where he became six sigma trained and greenbelt certified. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association.
