Mr. Kennard is senior counsel in the Tax and Corporate departments of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. He has substantial experience in structuring involving federal, international, state and local tax matters involving corporations and pass-through entities (such as partnerships, limited liability companies, S corporations, regulated investment companies, and real estate investment trusts), including with respect to mergers and acquisitions, and take-outs. He also specializes in innovative investment structures, including those involving new markets tax credits, historic tax credits, low-income housing tax credits and energy tax credits, as well as public finance and various other line items of the capital stack (such as debt, equity, grants, federal and state subsidies).
