Albert H. Conrad

Chip Conrad

is a senior partner in King & Spalding’s Finance Practice Group. He focuses on representing banks and other lending institutions, as well as a number of the firm’s corporate and REIT clients, in a wide variety of private debt financings, including syndicated credit facilities in both investment grade and leveraged transactions, acquisition financings, private placements and asset-based lending arrangements. Recent representations have included financings in the energy, transportation, real estate and healthcare fields.

Mr. Conrad has been a frequent speaker on lending‑related topics. He has served as Chairman of the Corporate and Banking Law Institute, Chairman of the Uniform Commercial Code Committee, and Chairman of the Corporate and Banking Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia.

Mr. Conrad graduated with highest honors from the University of Tennessee, receiving his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering. He obtained his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Virginia Law Review and was a member of Order of the Coif. He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Conrad was inducted into the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers in 1996. For each of the past several years, Mr. Conrad has received a top tier ranking in his field by Chambers USA and has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and International Who’s Who of Banking Lawyers.
