He transferred to the U.S. Air Force Reserves in 2004 and currently serves in the California Air National Guard. In 2013, he was appointed by the Board of Governors of the State Bar of California to serve on the California Young Lawyers Association to represent the interests of all young attorneys statewide.

As a board member, he also serves as a liaison to the California State Bar, Criminal Law Section Executive Committee. Through his efforts he has published and advocated their interests through MCLE articles and publications. Mr. Martinez received his baccalaureate degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University and his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from San Francisco Law School.

He has worked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Criminal Division, Northern District of California. He has also done substantial work for the Ventura County Bar Association, Legal Services Program, San Fernando Valley Bar Association, and California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. Mr. Martinez was the 2013 recipient of the James D. Loebl Public Service Award, Ventura County Bar Association, and has contributed to legal articles in Citations and California Lawyer magazines.
