Alfredo Silva is an associate in the Corporate Department of Morrison & Foerster's San Francisco office. Mr. Silva focuses his practice on representing publicly and privately held companies in a broad range of corporate and securities law matters and financing transactions, including initial public offerings, primary and secondary offerings, private placements, preferred stock financings and public and private mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Silva also counsels public companies regarding corporate governance issues and 1934 Act filings. In addition, Mr. Silva represents nonprofit organizations, providing advice on fiduciary issues, entity formation, structuring and other corporate matters, and assists small businesses pro bono.

Mr. Silva received his B.S. degree, cum laude with distinction, in Chemical Engineering from Yale College in 2004. He received his J.D. degree from Yale School of Law in 2008, where he was chair of the Student/Faculty Alliance for Military Equality and helped establish the school's Litigating for Gay Rights seminar. In between college and law school, Mr. Silva spent a year at China's Qinghua University researching issues in intellectual property protection on a Fulbright Fellowship.

Mr. Silva is proficient in Mandarin Chinese.
