She was trained as an architect and began her legal career in the San Francisco City Attorney's office. Ms. Barkley has extensive experience developing political strategies to complement her knowledge of the Planning Code.
Ms. Barkley is a 1977 graduate of the University of California Hastings College of the Law and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
