Alicia joined Reed Smith in 2005 and is a senior associate in the firm's Commercial Litigation Group. Alicia focuses her practice on general litigation, construction litigation, and financial services litigation.
Her work has included defense in both major class action and smaller-scale corporate litigation involving banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, construction contractors and subcontractors, industrial manufacturers, and others. Additionally, Alicia has done significant work on behalf of commercial and individual plaintiffs, including appellate representation of a West Virginia coal mine operator in a $50 million jury verdict for business torts, and a wrongful death case on behalf of the widows and estates of coal miners killed in a mine fire. Alicia has participated in authoring briefs and other filings in various state trial and appellate courts, federal courts, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Alicia has assisted in preparing the following speeches for partner Perry A. Napolitano: "Current Issues Arising Under the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005," The Sixth Annual Conference of the Association of Life Insurance Counsel (October 24, 2006); and "Attorney's Fees in Class Action Litigation," American Conference Institute Conference (April 2006).
Prior to her legal career, Alicia worked in fund development and marketing for the Maternity Care Coalition (2001-02), and as an LSAT instructor for Kaplan, Inc. (2002), both in Philadelphia.
