Alton Hornsby III

Alton Hornsby prepares and prosecutes U.S. and international patent applications filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He also advises clients on patent portfolio management and provides non-infringement, invalidity and patentability analyses.

Alton counsels clients across a wide range of technological areas, including electrical systems, mechanical devices, computer hardware and software, computer networks, medical devices and telecommunication systems.

Prior to joining Sutherland, Alton served as senior counsel for an intellectual property firm in Atlanta. His previous experience includes working as a patent examiner for the USPTO and as an engineer at an international telecommunications company. Alton is registered to practice before the USPTO.
