Amelia Cardenas is an associate in Haynes and Boone’s Immigration Practice Group. She represents foreign nationals seeking to live and work in the United States and the businesses that want to employ them. Specifically, she helps foreign nationals obtain temporary work visas, legal permanent resident status, and U.S. citizenship. She also helps businesses navigate the process of hiring foreign nationals and of retaining employment authorization for their employees.
Amelia has experience with a broad range of immigration petitions, applications, and processes, including visas for:
Degreed professionals (H-1B and TN categories);
Extraordinary ability workers (O category);
Entrepreneurs, investors, and their employees (E category); and
Intracompany executives, managers, and employees (L category).
She also helps clients obtain legal permanent residence status via employment-based and family-based immigrant visa sponsorships.
Outside the immigration context, Amelia has experience litigating in federal court, developing corporate compliance programs, and conducting internal investigations.
