Ms. Ann N. Cathcart Chaplin has been Deputy General Counsel for Litigation at General Motors Company since December 14, 2015. Ms. Chaplin has been a Principal and Litigation Practice Group Leader at Fish & Richardson P.C. since 2011. She oversees 245 lawyers in 12 offices worldwide. Her practice emphasizes intellectual property litigation, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks, and copyright. She represents clients through all stages of litigation, from pre-suits through trial and appeal. Ms. Chaplin represents clients in federal district court, state court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She served as Managing Principal of Fish & Richardson's Minneapolis office for more than five years. She has previous experience as an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate with Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi, L.L.P., Minneapolis, Minnesota from 1998 to 2000. She is admitted to the bar in Minnesota, the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Ms. Chaplin earned B.A. from University of Minnesota in 1995 and J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1998.
