Anna Ison is an associate in the Palo Alto office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Her current practice focuses on patent prosecution and counseling in the healthcare, medical device and diagnostics, biotechnology, and software sectors.
Anna also has extensive experience in litigation, having represented clients in patent infringement actions across a wide array of technologies, including telecommunications systems, data storage devices, liquid crystal displays, software products, social gaming, signal processing, adaptive filtering, video compression, and biotechnology. In particular, her experience includes investigating and evaluating prior art, examining and presenting non-infringement analyses, counseling engineers and inventors regarding accused products and potential patents for assertion of counterclaims, and helping experts develop infringement and non-infringement positions, as well as expert reports.
Prior to joining the firm, Anna was a patent litigation associate in the Menlo Park office of Davis Polk & Wardell LLP. Before attending law school, she worked as a product manager and engineer, developing software products and analytics that incorporate data mining techniques and optimization algorithms to predict consumer behavior. Her graduate work at the University of California, Berkeley, included the design of a robust controller for noise-canceling headphones and the use of statistical process control techniques to automate fault detection for plasma etch equipment.
