Anthea R. Daniels, a shareholder in Baker Donelson's Health Law Group, provides counsel to nonprofit and for-profit health systems, academic medical centers, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, durable medical equipment (DME) manufacturers and suppliers, professional management companies and physician groups. She also advises investors and private equity groups that invest in the health care industry.
Anthea concentrates her practice primarily in health care mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, hospital-physician alliances, and matters involving fraud and abuse, Stark violations, False Claims Act, the Office of Inspector General and Department of Justice investigations, corporate compliance, HIPAA compliance and breaches, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and tax-exempt matters. Anthea assists clients with structuring business transactions to minimize risk of fraud and abuse, and to ensure compliance with federal and state laws. She regularly counsels clients regarding government investigations and internal audits.
Anthea is the past president of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA), the leading and largest trade association for health lawyers in the country. She is chair of the inaugural Women's Leadership Council of the AHLA and is also an AHLA Fellow.
