Anthony H. Son is a partner in the Minneapolis office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP and a member of the Intellectual Property Department.

With an emphasis on patent litigation, Mr. Son represents clients in a variety of industries and technologies, including financial services, semiconductors, electronics, internet, business methods, automotive, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and various consumer products. He has led a number of patent infringement matters before various district courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and in re-examinations and Covered Business Method Review proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He works closely with clients to execute litigation strategies that will help them meet their business objectives.

Mr. Son was named to the Washington, D.C., Super Lawyers list in the 2014-2015 editions for his work in intellectual property litigation.

After earning his B.S. from the University of Maryland, Mr. Son earned his J.D. from the Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.

Mr. Son is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. He also is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Central, Northern and Southern Districts of California; U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois; U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland; U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas; U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania; and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Son is not regularly admitted to practice in the local courts of Minnesota.
