Anthony Califano is an associate in the Labor & Employment department of Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Mr. Califano devotes his practice to the representation of management in a range of employment-related matters, including litigation of single and multi-plaintiff claims and employment counseling.
Mr. Califano's litigation experience includes the representation of employers in federal and state courts regarding claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under federal and state employment laws. He also defends employers in litigation involving federal and state wage and hour laws, including class and collective actions. Mr. Califano has significant experience defending employment-related claims before federal and state administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, labor departments, and unemployment departments. He also represents management in labor arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Califano also provides counseling and advice regularly to employers regarding a variety of employment-related legal issues that arise in the workplace, including compliance with federal and state employment laws, personnel policies and employee handbooks, workplace investigations, disability accommodations, terminations, and other risk management issues.
Mr. Califano has represented clients in employment-related matters in a variety of industries, including retail, entertainment, healthcare, financial and business services, restaurant, high-tech, life science, and staffing.
