Tony Dias creates and implements strategic legal responses to high-profile and novel legal matters involving financial institutions; manufacturers; energy, telecommunications, consumer product and services, and construction companies; educational institutions; and corporate conduct. He defends companies facing federal and state attorney general investigations, legislative and regulatory challenges, and complex litigation, and counsels those companies in responding to intense media scrutiny.
Among the numerous federal and state attorney general multistate investigations and actions Tony has handled, he served as lead counsel to Mattel and Fisher-Price in investigations and claims raised by 45 state attorneys general and state departments of health arising out of the voluntary recall of toys with the Consumer Product Safety Commission. He negotiated a cooperative resolution of all claims with all the participating states. Tony has handled executive branch, congressional, and federal agency issues along with state and local government issues in more than 26 states. He also has extensive experience with the attendant media that follow these types of matters.
Tony holds leadership positions in national and local organizations promoting better public policy and improving children's health. He is a member of the board of directors of the National Organization of African Americans in Housing, a member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Business Council, a member of the board of directors for the United Way of Allegheny County, a member and past president of the board of directors of the Parental Stress Center, and a member of the board of trustees of the Fox Chapel Country Day School.
