Anup Sathy
is a nationally recognized practitioner in matters relating to corporate restructurings, workouts and Chapter 11 reorganizations. He has substantial experience representing and advising companies, buyers, boards, investors and lenders in all aspects of distressed and insolvency situations. Described as a “phenomenal lawyer” and “a great problem solver, mixing business judgment with legal knowledge,” Anup has been selected by Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in Bankruptcy/Restructuring every year since 2005. The 2014 Chambers USA edition applauds Anup as “intellectually gifted,” “an individual of high personal character” and “creative and resilient,” with “a terrific bedside manner.” The most recent edition of Chambers Global recognized Anup’s reputation as a prominent player in the market and commended him for being “very smart and practical” as well as a “great negotiator.” In 2011, he was among a group of four attorneys nationwide recognized as Law 360’s MVPs in the restructuring field. In 2011, Anup’s work was recognized by the Turnaround Management Association, which selected General Growth Properties, Inc. as its nationwide “Mega Company Transaction of the Year” and Neff Rental LLC as its nationwide “Mid-Size Transaction of the Year.” In addition, in 2012, Anup’s work was recognized by the Turnaround Management Association, which selected Aquilex as its nationwide “Large Company Transaction of the Year.” Turnarounds & Workouts also recognized the Aquilex deal as one of the twelve most successful restructurings of 2012. Most recently, Anup’s involvement in the reorganization of Reddy Ice Corporation was honored at The M&A Advisor’s 2013 Turnaround Awards as the “Consumer and Retail Products Deal of the Year (over $250 million).”
