April M. Mosby

April’s success as a patent attorney is attributed to her tenacity and her dedication to meet the needs of the client. With over fifteen years in patent law practice, in general, and over ten years of corporate practice, in particular, April understands the mechanics of the tech industry and the intellectual property it produces, as well as she does patent law. Her work in the (global) tech industry includes patent prosecution, litigation, and licensing, in combination with experience in corporate transactional law including mergers and acquisitions.

April has more than a decade of experience preparing, prosecuting, and maintaining hundreds of domestic and international patent applications in a vast array of the technology areas, including but not limited to: analog circuit design, electrical systems, digital signal processing (DSP), mixed signal processing, memory, semiconductor processing and manufacture systems, wireless (cellular) communications/fiber optics, broadband, mechanical arts, medical devices, software, solid state storage, database systems, operating systems, and telecommunication switching systems. April places great emphasis on protecting the client’s products and services in a timely, cost-efficient manner. As a patent attorney on the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board for over five years, she is well-versed in the appellate process. During her tenure, she drafted more than 500 appellate decisions for a team of Administrative Patent Judges.

Clients turn to April for patent portfolio management and her patent licensing talents as well. Her work includes drafting, reviewing, counseling and negotiating complex agreements such as patent and software licensing, patent cross-licenses, patent pools, patent acquisitions and patent sales.
