Barrett C. Mallos

Barrett C. Mallos concentrates his practice in real estate and financial services matters. He has significant experience representing capital markets lenders in the origination and servicing of commercial mortgage loans, with an emphasis on originating loans for the commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) market. Barrett has a substantial background in representing servicers of commercial mortgage loans in a variety of areas, in particular the defeasance of securitized loans. He also has experience representing commercial real estate purchasers acquiring real property and obtaining financing in connection with the acquisition of such real property.

Barrett is experienced in tax-exempt bond financings, tax credit syndications (including low income housing tax credits) and Federal Housing Administration (FHA), Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac mortgage loan transactions. He also has significant experience representing a variety of dealers and end users in the negotiation of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA) documentation framework.

While attending law school, Barrett was a member of the University of North Carolina Law Review.
