Barry R. Grissom

Regardless of the nature of the matter, Barry Grissom formulates legal strategy for each client based on the same starting point: a solid understanding of how the client will define the word “win.” With that foundational understanding in mind, Barry draws on a rich history as a former United States Attorney to strategize and construct client-focused approaches to government investigations and compliance matters. As a former prosecutor, Barry is positioned to offer insight gained while on the “other side of the curtain” and assists clients by helping them understand the mindset that often drives actions during an investigation or enforcement action.

Barry embraces a proactive approach to avoiding litigation and adverse regulatory actions, and believes the best way to accomplish this is by establishing a hands-on partnership with the client and by investing the time to understand the client’s business objectives and operational challenges. His experience in government as a member of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee at the Department of Justice provides him with insight into the workings and policy considerations when companies face investigations and compliance issues, and he leverages that knowledge in order to best position clients to avoid litigation.

Barry devotes the majority of his practice to representation of corporations and their leadership in criminal prosecutions, grand jury investigations, corporate internal investigations and civil enforcement actions brought by state and federal regulatory agencies. He is also prepared to handle False Claims Act enforcement and Class Action matters.
