Beau A. Baker

Beau A. Baker represents large national businesses in a wide range of legal areas from corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and loan transactions to complex litigation disputes. Mr. Baker is on the board of directors of the Florida Venture Forum and he counsels early to mid-stage companies seeking growth capital. In addition, he assists clients in protecting their intellectual property as their operations grow through trademark registration and protection, copyright registration and prosecution of infringement.

His broad litigation background includes representing clients in the areas of commercial insurance coverage, banking and finance, employment law (including violation of non-competes, fiduciary duties and tortious interference claims), copyright/trademark infringement, maritime, construction and appellate law. In addition, he has experience assisting clients in drafting employment agreements, employee handbooks and other contracts involving employment issues.

While in law school, Mr. Baker interned for the Honorable United States District Court Judge Marcia Morales Howard. He competed in multiple National Moot Court competitions, including the Tulane National Sports Law Competition (New Orleans, La., February 2005) and the Thomas Tang Competition (Washington, D.C., October 2006).

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Baker worked for a Jacksonville-based commercial litigation boutique where one of his most notable achievements was his pro bono representation of an indigent client in an appeal before the Florida Second District Court of Appeals, which resulted in the client's avoidance of an attorney's fee judgment of several hundred thousand dollars.
