Ben Krowicki concentrates his practice in corporate, commercial and real estate litigation. Ben has tried over 20 cases to conclusion and has argued appeals before several federal circuits and state supreme courts. He has also been involved in arbitrations and mediations before alternative dispute resolution forums. Ben has extensive experience in creditor’s rights, contract disputes and environmental matters and has lectured on commercial law before various business groups.

As a commercial and corporate litigator, he regularly counsels financial institutions on the enforcement of complex financial instruments and corporate clients on complex contract disputes. Additionally, he has been involved in the defense of numerous class actions and unfair competition claims.

Ben is national counsel for one of the country’s largest insurers in lawsuits involving changes to its agency network. In that capacity he has litigated the enforcement of non-compete clauses, the validity of forfeiture for competition clauses and the ownership rights of electronically stored data on the company’s proprietary software systems.

In the environmental area Ben is national counsel for companies in the petroleum industry in suits alleging the misuse of, and subsequent contamination by, certain gasoline additives. He has also represented both financial institutions and municipalities in cases arising from ownership of contaminated properties.

Ben is a member of Bingham’s Hartford litigation team recognized by the Connecticut Law Tribune as the 2013 “Litigation Department of the Year” in the category of out of state firms with a Connecticut office.
