Brendan J. Hughes

Brendan J. Hughes is a partner in the Trademark, Copyright, and Advertising practice group and a member of the Cooley Litigation Department. He joined the Firm in 2006 and is resident in the Washington, DC office.

Mr. Hughes has a significant amount of litigation and counseling experience in the fields of trademark, copyright, and advertising law. He has represented numerous clients in connection with trademark, copyright, and false advertising actions in federal court, as well as trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Mr. Hughes received a JD from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2004, where he served as a member of the Vanderbilt Law Review. He earned a BA from Georgetown University in 1999.

Mr. Hughes is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association.
