Brett H. Ludwig is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP, where he concentrates on representing clients in complex business disputes as a member of the firm’s Business Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. Among other matters, Mr. Ludwig represents insurers and reinsurers in both litigation and arbitration proceedings and is a member and former vice chair of the firm’s Insurance & Reinsurance Litigation Practice and a part of the Insurance & Reinsurance Industry Team. His complex litigation work also includes representations of clients in class action litigation as a part of the firm’s Antitrust Practice. Before joining Foley, Mr. Ludwig was a law clerk to the Hon. George G. Fagg, Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Mr. Ludwig has handled an array of complicated contractual disputes in a variety of industries, including insurance, health care, manufacturing, and medical technology. Mr. Ludwig’s practice includes a focus on reinsurance counseling and dispute resolution, and he has represented both ceding companies and reinsurers in disputes over reinsurance receivables. He also has a substantial practice in general insurance matters.
