Brian B. Ho

Brian Ho's practice focuses on patent prosecution, patent litigation support, and patent diligence across a wide array of technologies.

Mr. Ho's prosecution practice involves preparing and prosecuting patent applications in biotechnology, diagnostics, electronics and software. Mr. Ho’s prosecution practice currently focuses on multifunctional computing systems, including user interfaces for those systems, as well as established and emerging technologies that blend biotechnology and electro-mechanical systems such as nanotechnology and automated, high-throughput clinical assays.

In addition to prosecution, Mr. Ho has supported several patent litigation matters from their inception through trial, including cases in consumer electronics and medical diagnostics. His litigation support practice also includes work on interferences, reexaminations and arbitrations.

Mr. Ho’s practice also integrates patent and portfolio analysis for clients involved in acquisitions, licensing and other related transactions. As a result, Mr. Ho often analyzes and advises on global patent portfolios, particularly in the context of portfolio cross-licensing.

Mr. Ho received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was Managing Editor of the Columbia Science and Technology Law Review and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ho was a biochemist and engineer and has several years of industry experience in the fields of biochemistry, medical device, research and engineering.
