For more than three decades, Carey Deeley has represented his clients in a wide variety of state circuit, federal trial and appellate court matters.
Mr. Deeley focuses his practice on commercial law, product liability, personal injury defense and construction disputes. In addition to his civil practice, Mr. Deeley has defended clients in a number of criminal matters.
During his long-standing presence in Baltimore County, Mr. Deeley has earned a reputation as a discreet problem solver with the experience to diffuse crises and efficiently handle complex matters while seeking solutions that resolve disputes quickly. Peers recognized Mr. Deeley in the 2014 and 2015 editions of The Best Lawyers in America for his work in commercial litigation.

serving as counsel in construction defect and product liability cases for national home builders
defense and prosecution of commercial construction claims on behalf of a general contractor in various jurisdictions of the state of Maryland and beyond
defense of product liability claims for an automobile manufacturer
defense of commercial litigation matters arising from the delivery of professional services
general representation of diverse matters for an NFL football team
defense and prosecution of brokerage commission disputes for a number of commercial real estate firms
prosecution of personal injury matters, including a complex wrongful death action
Activities
Mr. Deeley is active in the Baltimore County and Maryland legal communities. Mr. Deeley is a member of the Appellate Courts Judicial Nominating Commission for the State of Maryland. Having participated on the Baltimore County Bar Association's Executive Council, he served as President during the term 1996-1997 and President of its Foundation the year thereafter. He has also served on the Board of Governors of the Maryland State Bar Association Foundation. He has served as Chairman of the Pretrial Release Project Advisory Committee, as a member of the Board of Trustees for St. Paul's School for Boys, and as Legal Advisor to the ABMRF/The Foundation for Alcohol Research.
Mr. Deeley continues to assist with continuing legal education classes for litigators, including training for new practitioners in trial practice matters and risk management issues. In the past, he presented on Closing Arguments at Maryland Defense Counsel's Trial Academy. Mr. Deeley has taught civil trial practice classes for the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, Inc. (MICPEL). He regularly speaks to the community regarding topics of current interest.
Mr. Deeley was appointed as a member of the Character Committee for the Second Appellate Circuit of Maryland. He is also a member of the Wednesday Law Club, The Lawyers' Round Table and the Dissenters' Law Club.
