Calvin Nelson is a member of Venable’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. His principal area of practice is intellectually property litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation. He has represented clients in a wide variety of fields, including smartphone technology, mobile applications, and enterprise software. Mr. Nelson has extensive experience with all phases of civil litigation, including preparing and responding to written discovery, drafting motions and briefs, conducting client interviews, and taking and defending fact and expert depositions. Mr. Nelson has represented parties in patent litigations in numerous federal courts, including the District Courts for the District of Columbia, the Eastern District of Texas, the Northern District of California, and the District of Delaware.
Mr. Nelson recently returned to Venable after completing a clerkship from March 2012- September 2013 with the Honorable Robert L. Wilkins in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
