Carlos Ramirez is an associate in Cooley's Business Department. He joined the Firm in 2013 and is resident in the San Diego office.

Mr. Ramirez was previously a Summer Honors intern at the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Corporation Finance, where he reviewed public company filings for compliance with federal securities laws and regulations, drafted SEC Comment Letters, and researched various securities law and corporate governance issues.

Prior to law school, he was a senior associate in the Audit and Enterprise Risk Services practice for the Los Angeles office of Deloitte, where he served both public and private company clients conducting audits and reviews of financial statements and internal controls.

Mr. Ramirez received his JD from Northwestern University School of Law in 2013. While at Northwestern, he participated in Northwestern's Entrepreneurship Law Center at the Bluhm Legal Clinic, which provides legal services to entrepreneurs and small business owners. He received a BSA in Accounting and a BBA in Business Law from Loyola Marymount University in 2007.

Mr. Ramirez is a member of the State Bar of California and a certified public accountant in the State of California (license inactive).
