Carmen G. McLean

Carmen McLean has significant experience in antitrust investigations and litigation. She has represented several multinational companies under investigation by the United States Department of Justice and international competition authorities related to allegations of bid-rigging, price-fixing, and market allocation. Carmen has continued her representations of these companies in related civil litigation. She currently represents the Yazaki entities in the Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation.
Carmen counsels clients on electronic discovery issues. In particular, she advises clients subject to preservation or production obligations to design an appropriate response, while also minimizing associated costs, and creates resources (e.g., policies and procedural manuals) to proactively address e-discovery issues. She is a member of Jones Day's Electronic Discovery Management Team, conducts training programs for other attorneys, and has guest lectured at Georgetown University Law Center.
Carmen has represented numerous clients in complex litigations and arbitrations resulting from disputes over agreements involving stock purchases, asset purchases, noncompetition, and licenses.
Carmen provides legal representation to those who wish to provide safe and permanent homes to at-risk children in the District of Columbia. She is a member of The Children's Law Center's board of directors and the Pro Bono Committee in Jones Day's Washington Office. In 2012, Carmen was named "Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year" by the District of Columbia Bar. In 2011, she was selected by the National Law Journal as a "Champion of the Legal Profession."
