Catherine G. "Kate" Vasudevan is an associate in Morgan Lewis's Energy Practice. Ms. Vasudevan represents utilities and energy companies in regulatory proceedings and transactional matters. Her regulatory practice is focused on competitive procurement design, energy efficiency and demand reduction programs, renewable energy portfolio standard compliance, and advanced metering programs. Her transactional energy practice is focused on renewable energy and includes the negotiation of power purchase agreements. Ms. Vasudevan also provides advice with respect to state and federal environmental laws.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Ms. Vasudevan was a litigation associate at a large firm, where she concentrated on administrative and environmental law.
Ms. Vasudevan received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2006, where she graduated Order of the Coif and was an articles editor for the Wisconsin Law Review. While in law school, Ms. Vasudevan clerked for the Department of Justice and the Environmental Protection Agency. Prior to pursuing her legal career, she was a policy analyst at the Environmental Protection Agency. Ms. Vasudevan earned her A.B., magna cum laude, in biology from Bowdoin College in 2002.
Ms. Vasudevan is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota.
