Charles Chejfec focuses his practice on the identification, mitigation and resolution of insurance fraud matters for major insurance companies around the country. He represents insurers that are the victims of systemic fraud by health care providers who violate licensure and regulatory laws, engage in kickbacks, provide medically unnecessary services, or bill for services not rendered. In addition, Chuck assists his health care clients in devising systems and protocols for identifying fraudulent claims and the individuals or groups who engage in fraud.
As an integral part of his practice, Chuck regularly addresses legal issues arising under various federal and state laws, including ERISA, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, personal injury protection statutes, and health care regulations. Through his work in these substantive areas, Chuck has successfully defended insurance companies and helped develop a body of law making it easier for insurers to combat fraud. Chuck has successfully tried many cases to verdict.
He serves as the general counsel to a nonprofit organization dedicated to anti-bullying issues on a pro bono basis.
Before entering private practice, Chuck served as a judicial law clerk to Nevada Supreme Court Justice C. Clifton Young. The following year, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Charles R. Norgle, Sr. of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
