Charles P. Groppe is of counsel in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Groppe’s practice focuses on collectively bargained employee benefit plans. He regularly advises employers that contribute to multiemployer pension and welfare plans regarding withdrawal liability, the Pension Protection Act of 2006, and the Affordable Care Act. He also provides advice on the application of various federal and state statutes as they apply to employee benefits plans and collective bargaining agreements, and has handled numerous multiemployer plan trustee deadlocks over the administration of such plans. Mr. Groppe’s practice also encompasses ERISA and age, gender, race and disability discrimination litigation across a wide range of industries.

Mr. Groppe is a prior contributing author to the first and second editions of BNA’s ERISA Litigation manual. He also serves as Chair of the Rosemount Center, a firm pro bono client that provides HeadStart educational opportunities to the D.C. community.

Mr. Groppe earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School in 1997 and holds a B.A. in philosophy from Georgetown University.

Mr. Groppe is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fourth, Sixth, Eleventh and District of Columbia Circuits; the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia; and the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
