Charles "Charley" Grimes is a transportation litigator in the Firm's Birmingham office, focusing on the defense of clients in the trucking industry. He is a trial attorney with 17 years of experience in representing corporate clients in all phases of high-exposure litigation. He has tried 26 cases in his career, 14 of which were tried to verdict before a jury. He has tried personal injury and wrongful death cases in both state and federal courts. The bulk of his experience has involved the transportation industry, and historically, a large part of his practice was dedicated to the defense of clients in the railroad industry. He has extensive experience with grade crossing, derailment and FELA cases. Charley has also worked on a broad spectrum of other cases, including the subject areas of vehicular accidents, products liability, real property disputes and commercial litigation. The bulk of his work has been on the defense side of cases, but he has worked on plaintiff’s cases as well, for both individuals and corporate entities.
