Christopher D. Johnsen is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Houston office and a member of the firm's Litigation Practice. Mr. Johnsen focuses his practice on a broad range of complex commercial litigation in multiple fora, including state and federal courts in various states at all levels, administrative agencies, and arbitral tribunals. He routinely handles a wide array of matters, including commercial disputes, energy related matters, securities actions, real property disputes, class actions, and employment matters. On the employment side, in addition to handling litigation, Mr. Johnsen has represented employers with respect to policies, procedures, handbooks, employment agreements, covenants not to compete, separation agreements, and other employment matters.

Mr. Johnsen has handled all aspects of cases from cradle to grave, including taking and defending many depositions, handling complex e-discovery projects, drafting and arguing numerous substantive motions, trying two jury trials, and briefing multiple appeals. His appellate experience includes a broad range of appellate matters in the Texas Courts of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States, including petitions for writ of mandamus, appeals of summary judgments and jury awards, and confirmations and vacations of arbitration awards.

As his first career was in business, Mr. Johnsen has the ability to approach legal issues as both a business advisor and an experienced litigator. With an eye towards achieving creative business solutions, he has represented major institutional clients in a variety of industries in a wide range of business disputes.
