Christopher J. Boran is partner-elect in Morgan Lewis's Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Boran represents clients in a variety of industries in a wide range of labor and employment matters. His practice focuses on defending management in class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and state wage-and-hour laws, as well as class actions under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). Mr. Boran also regularly handles individual-plaintiff actions under Title VII, 42 U.S.C. § 1981, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and a variety of other statutory and common law theories.
In addition to handling active litigation, Mr. Boran advises clients regarding the design and implementation of employment policies and practices. He also routinely assists clients seeking to minimize litigation risk by counseling them through sensitive personnel-related decision making.
Mr. Boran earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2004, where he was named to the Order of the Coif. He earned his B.A., summa cum laude, in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000.
Mr. Boran is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Circuits.
