Christopher R. Lubeck

Chris Lubeck has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation in both federal courts and the International Trade Commission (ITC). He has represented clients in connection with a wide range of technologies, including telecommunications and cellular systems, semiconductor processing, and smartphone user-interface functionality. Chris represented a Fortune 50 electronics company in multiple ITC proceedings where he took depositions, analyzed source code, researched and drafted legal documents, and worked with experts in their analysis of the patents-in-suit and in preparation for their deposition and hearing testimony. Ultimately, the team secured an exclusion order preventing the importation of infringing products into the United States.

Chris has strategically counseled companies of various sizes – from startups to Fortune 50 companies – with respect to their intellectual property issues. He has worked with clients to assess various aspects of their patent portfolios from determining the strongest patents to assert in litigation to valuing portfolios worth millions or billions of dollars.

Before embarking on his legal career, Chris worked as a scientist at Los Alamos and Livermore National Laboratories in chemical and materials science groups. He holds a doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering from University of California, Berkeley, and his dissertation involved templating semiconductors around electronically active components amphiphiles.
