Colby W. Smith is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Mr. Smith counsels clients in a wide range of business law matters, with an emphasis on public and private merger and acquisition transactions and securities offerings. He represents clients in a variety of industries, including technology, healthcare, manufacturing, and consumer products. He has considerable experience in representing both buyers and sellers in carve-out transactions and assists clients in understanding and resolving the unique issues presented in those transactions. Mr. Smith also focuses on counseling public and private Pennsylvania companies on corporate governance and transactional matters.
Mr. Smith earned his J.D., with highest honors, from Rutgers University School of Law, Camden in 2004, where he served as the articles editor for the Rutgers Law Journal. While in law school, he worked as an extern for Judge Joseph E. Irenas of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, as well as Judge Dolores K. Sloviter of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Mr. Smith is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania.
