Coleen M. Meehan is a partner and trial lawyer in Morgan Lewis's Litigation Practice, resident in the Philadelphia office. Ms. Meehan’s practice encompasses a variety of commercial and civil litigation, with particular emphasis on handling complex commercial litigation and business tort matters.
Ms. Meehan has represented companies in numerous industries, including publishing, manufacturing, consumer products, financial institutions, insurance, pharmaceutical, and healthcare. She has litigated cases before state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels, the American Arbitration Association, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Meehan counsels clients in intellectual property matters, including false advertising, trademarks, trade secrets, licensing, and unfair competition. She also regularly counsels clients and colleagues on e-discovery and the retention and discovery of information stored electronically. Active in firm management, Ms. Meehan is a chair emeritus of the Philadelphia office’s Professional Recruiting Committee and currently serves as the administrative and assigning partner for the Philadelphia Litigation Practice.
Ms. Meehan runs the Philadelphia office’s pro bono program with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office, pursuant to which the firm’s lawyers represent the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in prosecuting alleged criminals at hearings and trials. She also serves as a volunteer attorney for the Support Center for Child Advocates, representing abused and neglected children, and serves as an adjunct professor of law at Villanova University School of Law, where she teaches Civil Pretrial Practice to second- and third-year law students. Active in community affairs, Ms. Meehan has served as a member of the board of directors of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania and Catholic Social Services.
Ms. Meehan is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
