Courtney Booth is an associate in Benesch’s Litigation Practice Group and is resident in the firm’s Chicago office. Courtney focuses her practice on representing companies against class and individual actions brought under various state and federal privacy and consumer protection statutes, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), as well as other consumer-privacy and unfair business practices laws and regulations.

Prior to joining Benesch, Courtney worked at a boutique litigation firm in Chicago, where she handled technology, privacy and employment class actions matters. There, she was named as class counsel in Estrada v. iYogi, Inc., No. 2:13-cv-01989 (E.D. Cal.); Hall v. TuneUp Corp., No. 1:13-cv-01804 (N.D. Ill.); and Yencha v. ZeoBIT LLC, No. 2:14-cv-00578 (W.D. Pa.).

Courtney has assisted multiple pro se clients through the Northern District of Illinois Settlement Assistance Program. In one such case, the Honorable Jeffrey Cole stated that “[t]he court wishes to express its appreciation for Ms. Courtney Booth . . . who is serving as appointed counsel for the plaintiff. The work she has done for the plaintiff is of the highest order and the way she has conducted herself in court is to be commended.” Sroga v. City of Chicago, No. 12-cv-6288, Dkt. 65 (N.D. Ill. Aug. 6, 2014).
