Cristina Rodriguez is the co-leader of Baker Botts’ Professional Liability Practice group. She maintains a varied trial practice that focuses primarily on professional liability, employment, commercial and securities litigation in state and federal court. Her employment practice includes internal investigations and counseling. Ms. Rodriguez also counsels non-profit clients regarding general risk management.
Some of Ms. Rodriguez’s trials include the defense of a major accounting firm in a fraud case involving a tax shelter in Kentucky state court, the defense of a major consulting firm in a misappropriation of trade secrets suit in Houston federal court, and the defense of a major accounting firm in a professional malpractice suit in Harris County state court. Ms. Rodriguez has mounted constitutional challenges, on behalf of industrial clients, to municipal ordinances that conflict with state air quality regulation and permits. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Rodriguez has also represented businesses that operate in Mexico, South America and Central America.
Following graduation from law school, Ms. Rodriguez served as a law clerk for the Honorable James Lawrence King of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division.
