Dan Coffman is of counsel in Holland & Knight's Jacksonville office. Mr. Coffman's experience includes defending employers in wage and hour action, employment discrimination and wrongful termination litigation matters. He has particular experience in counseling private and public sector employers involving union avoidance, strikes and supervisory training to assist in remaining union-free. In addition, he counsels employers on matters involving wage and hour law compliance, terminations, leave requests, disabilities, occupational safety and health issues.
In his more than four decades of practice, Mr. Coffman has handled everything from administrative hearings to jury trials to appeals, in many industries, including: construction, transportation, shipyards, manufacturing, retail supermarkets, automobile processing, newspapers, television stations, community colleges, school boards and banks.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Coffman headed a Jacksonville-based labor and employment firm for many years, which he helped found in 1965.
Mr. Coffman is a former naval aviator and still flies his own plane.
