Darren VanPuymbrouck is a Partner in the Litigation Practice Group and the Chair of the Firm’s National Fire & Explosion Response and Litigation Task Force.

As a trial lawyer with more than 25 years of experience, Darren has tried complex, high-profile cases involving myriad topics in some of the most dangerous jurisdictions throughout the Country, including a recent jury trial in which he obtained a $22 Million verdict for his client. Darren has also led numerous appeals in state and federal courts throughout the country, including in several state Supreme Courts.

Darren has developed an international reputation for his expertise in defending against catastrophic fires and explosions, mass toxic torts, and complex product liability claims. Darren also regularly serves as national trial and coordinating counsel for clients facing multi-jurisdictional litigation often involving thousands of claims and billions of dollars in exposure. He has litigated and resolved county and statewide class actions in California, Nevada, and Arizona, numerous MDLs, and many mass-actions.

In addition, Darren regularly advises domestic and international clients on risk avoidance, including enterprise-wide risk assessments, product integrity, and compliance with regulatory and standards-based listings, as well as compliance with to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), reporting to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and conducting product recalls.
