A member of the firm’s Litigation practice group, Darryl Chatman focuses on animal health, life sciences and agriculture law, regulatory compliance, commercial litigation, and employment litigation.

Animal Health, Life Sciences and Agriculture Law. A former deputy director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture, Darryl is an experienced attorney, economist and scientist focused on growing agribusiness and developing markets for agriculture products. He primarily assists agriculture commodity groups, farmers, ranchers, alternative fuel industries and biotech start-up companies with a variety of legal needs.

Commercial Litigation. Darryl counsels banks, businesses and insurance companies of all sizes. Most of his cases involve various types of contract disputes. His experience also extends to litigation specific to the food and agricultural industry.

Employment Litigation. Darryl handles ERISA actions involving claims for short and long term disability benefits and ERISA penalties. He also handles cases involving noncompete agreements and the misappropriation of trade secrets.
Background
Prior to serving as the deputy director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture, Darryl was an attorney in Armstrong Teasdale’s Litigation practice group. He is a former student athlete and played on the University of Missouri-Columbia football team.
