David A. Gordon is a partner in the New York office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Gordon is a member of the Finance Department and the Executive Committee, and is also one of two Vice Chairs of the firm. Prior to becoming Vice Chair, Mr. Gordon represented banks, financial institutions, private equity funds and other private companies in connection with all phases of the development, financing and restructuring of energy, telecommunications, infrastructure and industrial projects.

Mr. Gordon has practiced extensively in the development, financing and restructuring of private power projects, including fossil fuel-fired power projects, biomass projects, municipal solid waste projects and other alternative energy projects.

Mr. Gordon also has handled project financings of fiber optic cable projects, including submarine cable projects. His activities included the structuring of projects and the related financing, due diligence, and coordination and negotiation of project and financing agreements. Additionally, Mr. Gordon actively practiced in mergers and acquisitions involving assets encumbered by project-related debt.

Mr. Gordon was named to the 2014 Lawdragon 500, a list of leading lawyers in America, where it was noted that his “leadership has helped Latham emerge stronger than ever with an enviable international footprint.”

Mr. Gordon has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1986.
