David Jordan is a Principal in Fish & Richardson’s Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Jordan’s law practice emphasizes client counseling in the areas of patent infringement and validity opinions, patent due diligence, post grant work, patent portfolio development, standards compliance, and product clearance; and in managing U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, focusing on in-person prosecution of software, business methods, and electronics patent applications.
In the electrical and software technologies areas, his practice encompasses computer architecture; user interfaces and human-computer interaction; SaaS; speech recognition; search engines; parallel computing; operating systems; cloud computing; e-commerce; databases; business process and financial modeling; advertising; supply chain traceability; satellites; lasers; consumer electronics devices; control systems; and games and toys.
David also represents disabled veterans, pro bono, in their appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and manages prosecution of pro bono patent applications referred through the California Lawyers for the Arts and Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA).
Before joining Fish & Richardson, Mr. Jordan received his commission as an officer in the U.S. Navy, and served overseas as an aircraft maintenance officer. He was also a judicial extern for the Honorable James F. Stiven, Southern District of California, San Diego, California.
