David Belczyk is a mechanical engineer and former state prosecutor, who has tried numerous cases to verdict in both the state and federal courts and has argued before the federal circuit courts. His practice focuses on diverse complex commercial litigation, with a special focus on construction disputes and product liability litigation. David's practice also includes class action defense, the False Claims Act, and the FCRA.

David's engineering degree allows him unique insight into his clients' businesses and allegations of design and manufacturing defects. It also affords him a deeper understanding of the challenges both contractors and owners face throughout large construction projects. In litigation, David can speak the language of experts, but can present their opinions with common sense clarity. He also helps clients examine their businesses and products proactively, to reduce future exposure by forward thinking and effective contracting.

In addition to David's experience before juries, he routinely appears before the federal and state courts on a variety of pretrial matters, where many cases can be won without trial. He has successfully mediated numerous cases in the construction and commercial litigation contexts and understands how to use the mediation process to achieve a faster and more efficient resolution. David clerked for the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals for two years, where he gained extensive insight into how judges make their decisions.
