Debra A. White

Debbie White focuses her practice in the entertainment and music industries, with particular emphasis on representing established and developing recording artists, songwriters, producers, managers, record companies, publishing companies, new media companies, actors, fashion designers, athletes, chefs, models and high-level industry executives in their ongoing business affairs.

Ms. White's primary emphasis is in the field of music negotiation, including negotiation of multimillion-dollar recording contracts, as well as publishing, live touring on a worldwide basis, film soundtrack and Broadway cast albums, and merchandising and sponsorship agreements. Her experience also extends into all areas of the traditional entertainment and new media industries, and she has been very successful at expanding her clients’ interests through ventures such as book publishing, fragrance and cosmetic licensing agreements, non-scripted television deals, and infomercials. Additionally, Ms. White has experience in negotiating purchase and sale agreements for extensive recording and publishing catalogues.

Ms. White is also part of our Advertising and Promotions practice, and frequently utilizes her talent and recording relationships to negotiate music and entertainment-related strategic partnerships, tour sponsorships, brand integration agreements, celebrity product endorsements and spokesperson deals on behalf of advertising agencies and Fortune 500 companies from a variety of industries.

Ms. White's experience representing talent, combined with her understanding of licensing and publishing rights, uniquely positions her to address the complex issues that can arise when artists work with new media companies, such as subscription services.
